What is the name of your state? Nevada

Ok so I used to be friends with this person and she said/did some things that were unforgivable so I ended the friendship. Over a 7 month period she would talk to my boyfriend or brother and say things (lies) to cause trouble, I never said anything to end it cause she was always a spoiled brat and it wasnt worth it.
For 7 months now she's had a government job working as secretary for the department of energy. I discovered that in her yahoo profile she listed "government" as her occupation and one click away in the photo album she put up a folder of nude pictures. I printed out the profile page and photos and sent them to human resources. #1 I thought that was totally inappropriate for a government employee and #2 I was angry at everything she did to me. I didnt paste her head onto someone elses body so I really saw no reason for anonymity. well I found out that they gave her copies of these pages and now she wants to sue me for slander. Did I screw things up for myself or is there a way I can fight this? what kind of charges or fines will I face if this turns against me?

As long as you didn't say anything about her that was false and as long as the pics were on line for the public to see, there is nothing she can do. The pics were there for the public to see...weren't they?

I printed out the profile page and photos and sent them to human resources.

Why did you send prints of the photos when your intention was to show the employer that the girl had nude photos on line? Why not just send them the link so they could "investigate" IF it mattered to them?

Yes they were public at one point thats how I discovered them, but there is an option on yahoo to make the folders private or public, stupid me didnt print out duplicates of the profile photos so all i have now are the same photos that were D/L into my brothers folder (the ex boyfriend, typical boy) im a little worried that if she does take some kind of action those profile pics (with yahoo logo, advertisments etc) would have been my only proof of this, she could claim she sent those to him only and not show anyone the originals i printed. on the otherhand I can't think how she could proove they are private anyway. though she sent me a yahoo message and claimed it was stupid of me to put my moms name on the envelopes return address (there was no last or first name of anyone) I can't help but think she might D/L these pics from her comp and say they are the ones I sent in, whoever recived the originals in human resources may still have them on file..? I was told she only has copies of everything but Im thinkin its fat chance I'll get my own copies if they still exist.

as for the link... i don't know what that girl was doing, she would put them up for 2 days and then hide/delete the folder for a couple days or weeks and then put it back up, too many guys sending her messages maybe? i figured they would go to the site, see nothing and then forget about it

Also... earlier in the day that i got the first message from her (saying she had copies of what i sent in and threating to sue) she had deleted all the information and pictures from her profile, the only thing she left was gender, that right there seems to me like someone gave her the heads up that she'd be better off getting rid of that. if it was all private and she had nothing to worry about why delete? This girl is arrogant and loves to brag about everything, she definatly woulda left that stuff to rub it in my face that she couldn't be touched

What you did was unconscionable and now you have to live with the concern that you may be held accountable for it.

Find out the statute of limitations on “invasion of privacy” in Nevada and keep in mind that she can file suit anytime within that period.

It is highly unlikely that she will pursue this, but until the SOL has passed, you won't know for sure.

why such drama? when you do things like this you just go to her level. why go there if you hate this girl? should have just left it alone.
