What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IN
Can someone here help me understand the "help" homeowners were suppose to get from the federal gov't assistance/loan to banks and fannie mae? Presently we are current on our mortage, and have only been 30 days late 1 time in the 6 years we have had our home. We are in a ARM and just want to refi into a fixed rate. We are with countrywide and have a fannie mae back loan, yet our told we can get no help with a refi because we are not in forclosure, but also can not get any type of modification because we have that 1 late payment. What exactly was the gov't money to help?

Nice but

Thanks for the web site, but since Countrywide/Bank of america doesn't care about the rules and such, they have no desire to refi or modify loans. Since they have gotten gov't money they would just rather foreclose on the home, but thanks.
