i live in california. just over a year ago my grandmother asked me to help with her care.including finances. shortly after i decided to move and asked if she wanted to go with me and my family. she agreed and told me to sell off her mobile home, pay all her bills and if there's any money left over that i can have it for taking her into my new home in another town.unfortunately, the home wasn't worth enough to pay all her bills..so, being a general contractor, i remodeled the home inside and out. here's the problem, my uncles and aunt say that i stole their inheritance and are threatening to sue me. i put in over 300 hours of my own time and about $5000.00 in materials from my own pocket.before all this grandma signed a durable power of attorney to me, of her own free will, since she new she was diagnosed with mild dimensia and the onset of alzheimers. does my family have a case against me? any advice would be greatly appreciated.
