I was gifted a car as a birthday/graduation present by my Grandmother. I had a witness present when she signed it over (and I asked "are you sure you want me to have this") and a birthday card written and signed by her that states "enjoy the car, I hope you can use it". The title was then transferred into my name at the Title Bureau. My Grandmother just went through a court proceeding and was assigned a Guardian for her care. The Guardian says he wants the car back so it can be sold and money applied towards her care. She has substantial assets already in a trust + her house is being sold ($200k+ value). Im not sure if the Guardian realizes the title was transferred to me a month before he was ever assigned to her. He tells me to move it back but it has no plates and is uninsured due to new ownership by me. Can he force me to return the car even though she wants me to have it, I have a witness who saw her sign it over under no duress and a written card stating she was happy I had it? Apparently the Guardianship was pending when she gifted the car to me. The car was transferred a month before she was assigned a Guardian. Do her wishes matter at all? She isnt incompetent, just in long-term care due to medical issues
