What is the name of your state? Colorado

My mom currently has custody of my niece and has had custody for the past 6 years. Now custody is back before the judge and my sister wants my niece back. My sister has not proven herself to be a fit parent and has breast fed my 6 year old niece as well as smoked pot in front of her.

The Judge was very biased and would not heed my niece's therapist's recommendation that my sister should not be given custody for my niece's safety. The Judge stated that the therapist did not have sufficient credentials for this recommendation, regardless of the fact that she works for the state of Colorado and specializes in custody cases.

In addition, the Judge gave my sister 40 minutes of an hour long hearing to present her case, including witnesses while only giving my mom 10 minutes (and a 10 minute recess rounds it out). I feel that the judge was being biased and wasn't looking for what would be best for my niece.

Any advice? Recommendations? Help? Thank you, I hope.

Smoking pot does NOT make a parent unfit. It is odd but it does not mean the mother is unfit. Also many people who are strict la leche leaguers breast feed until the child decides it is time to stop. Again, it may not be the norm but it does not mean that there is anything illegal or anything that makes mom unfit.
What else have you proven against mom? Apparently nothing.Parents are presumed fit -- they have a constitutional right to raise their children.
