What is the name of your state?ny y am currently 6 months pregnant,my babys father,kieth,was recently murdered,and kieths parents live in ohio.i recently asked them if they would be interested in adopting the baby when he is born,and they said yes.how would this work? would it be a regular adoption,or waht steps would we have to take?do we need a lawyer in ny,where i live,or ohio where they live,or both? :( all the info i can get would be greatly appriciated.thnaks!

This is a difficult time for you but I think you need some time to think and more information. At 6 months you have 3 more months to go and things may change. There is time to make a decision. How old are you, how old was the father, did he work, were you two married? If he worked, your child would be eligible for Social Security survivor benefits even if you were not married and he was born subsequent to the father's death, a DNA test could still prove maternity after death, this would allow for some income if that is behind your inquiries now. If you can answer those questions that may make your questions easier to answer.
