What is the name of your state? texas,
first, a father abandon his wife and children leaving them to move in with the wife's mother who would be the grandmother of her children. The attorney general office initiates father to begin child support, issued visitation orders, to which father did not honor more times than did. Then the mother of the children decides later to abandon her children to move in with a boyfriend, leaving the children with the grandparent for over five years. The mother lives on the child support all this time until the attorney general steps back in to start redirect payments to the grandparent. The mother returns to take the children to keep the child support, in order to stop proceedings in court that would gvie the grandparent rights to the childsupport making her the cp and the mother ncp. Do the grandparent have a strong chance in court for permanet mang. conserv of the children?

Not if the mother is NOW in possession of the children, unless they can prove that the mother is unfit and a DANGER to the children.
