We suspect that my great neice is being sexually abused. Her stepmother has cut off all contact with both sides of the family. Her real mother cannot be found. Can her grandfather request regular visitation to check on her?

If you feel there is abuse going on, you should call the police and Child Protective Services.

Where is the father? And if all communication has been cut off ...how/why do you suspect this?

We have. They suggest getting visitation...
So, let me get this straight...
You called the police and child protective services to report allegations of sexual abuse, and they advised that you get visitation? I don't buy it.

There is something much, much deeper going on here. And, as was alluded to earlier, it probably has to do with the fact that the parents of the children don't want you having any contact with them.

That's why I asked WHO she called to report abuse. ;) If she answers the question, I'll know in a heartbeat how truthful she is being. By the same token, if she doesn't answer the question, then we will ALL know how truthful she is being.
