What is the name of your state? MA

My son and daughter in law seperated in oct 03. In Feb04 my daughter in law had started doing drugs and having alot of very bad people at her apartment. the children were in danger and dss stepped in. She signed papers to give me temp guardianship of the 3 children,,my son agreed and signed. I had the children from feb through nov...every 3 months guardianship was cont.. On nov 1/04 the judge gave me perm custody until the childrens 18th birthdays...Child support or visitation were never brought up or set out on paper..I have let their mom visit and talk on the phone with the children.. my son sees the kids also and does not want custody but is content they are with me and well cared for..my daughterinlaw in glad they are here also and keeps saying someday she will get things together and be able to take the kids back.. She has lost her apartment and lives in a rooming house and works less than 40 hours a week...the people that are at her home are still not appropriate for the children...during a visit her boyfriend forced the twin 5 year old boys to drink beer..they told their counselor and she contacted dss who again investigated and found her guilty again of neglect. i want to take the children and move to the state on kansas.. i have the oppertunity to rent (poss buy) a 3 bedroom house..the kids would have a yard, good schools and a new life..right now we live in housing so there is no yard and too many kids, alot of fights and the kids cannot go out alone. the 3rd child is an 18 month baby girl...I don't want to cut the mom out, she can visit and stay at my house, i will bring the kids up in the summer but i do feel this is best for them...can i take the children and go?

Not without the permission of the court that awarded you custody.
