i live in ohio. i have custody paper signed from mother. can not locate father,but suspect he in town.mother has 5 other children but does not have custody of any.father suspected of abusing drugs.mother drinking problem and mental health issues.freely letting other set of grandparents have weekend visits with said child.( no court order ordering visition with parents or grandparents).child comes back with numerious medical problems.have had to emergency room on several ocassions(scabbies,rashes,sores aroung genitials) baby was found at local watering hole with drunk mother and fiance the day he was released from hospital(3 days old). mother freely admits to putting beer in bottle to get baby to sleep when had collic.last contact with father was week he found out he was a "daddy".mother lied and told him she miscarried.father said he would not interfer with arrangements mother had made with me.mother has come in twice and taken baby out of house with no clothes or other essentials, not even car seat or medicine.support was ordered through the welfare office.father has made one payment, mother none.my problem is they are trying to make me stay in town. have had plans to move to better location and be closer to my family. willing to give other grandparents liberal visits but they do not want me to move out of town.childrens services has been contacted but nothing has been done.i want whats best for child,but not the chance he will be abused or neglected.also the other grandparents brought back his bed that was sent up for him.said they just let him run and run and run 'till he just falls asleep where ever(on the floor, i assume).i have had child basically since birth.he is now 17 months old.my question is can they make me stay in town and can they -ie. the parents get him.
