What is the name of your state? Albuquerque, New Mexico

Well some of you may or may not remember the thread made about my husbands mom. This kinda branches off of it.

My husband grandparents died in 04 and 05 left hubby's mom the house which she didn't want. Hubbys mom let us move into the house all of 20 hrs before she got upset about something and kicked us out. While cleaning the house up there I threw away 3- 1gallon ziplock baggys filled with weed away flushed it down the potty and poured out lord knows how many gallons of cheap liquor. Neither myself nor my husband drink or even smoke so I saw no need to keep in in the house. During my cleaning I gathered all the mail and put it in one pile I saw several SS checks made to grandpa in the pile it was just like a statment with something torn off the end of the paper. This was in july of 05 grandpa died oct of 04 and grandma died in feb 05. We now obviously do not live in that house anymore my husband an I suspect that his mom hasn't let SS know that grandpa and grandma are dead.....We dont have any info on either grandparents like SS#. I looked on a link someone posted in another thread " haven't seen husband in 34 yrs". Hubby and I checked that link to see if grandpa and grandma are on that site and we coudldn't find anything. My husband has also checked local land/property tax site to see who the house now belongs to and who has paid the taxes on it...and it still shows grandpa & grandma....We find it odd that his mom who doesn't work always has money and is throwing it around all the time. The question : is there anyway we can check to see if checks are still going out to grandpa and if they are still being cashed?

CAll 1--800-772-1213 and ask if they have death certificates of the grandparents or if they are still sending out checks.

If you want to report your in-law on this one, I'd let your own hubby do the calling on his own mother. I'm sure your mother-in-law hate you enough, so let your hubby take the steam on this one.

actually his mom hates us both more him cause he married me while I was pregnant with another mans child. thats a whole different story the things his mom did to us to break us up would make a nice movie. His mom really needs some help she is addicted to drugs and drinks like a fish. But no one can force her to a treatment center.
