I have two seperate questions. My husband's ex shot herself. A great deal of her depression was coming form stresses that her mother caused. The sister(of my husband's ex) also attempted suicide for the same reason (stresses caused by the mother). I am not sure what is going on there but would it be possible for my husband to request that the kids not be left with the grandmother?

How is child support determined when a parent is disabled and works of and on? I live in AL.

Not a lot to go on from your post so maybe you can give a little more info so you can get some answers.....
did she succeed in killing herself or is she recovering from the attempt?
from your post it would seem she is the CP...is that true?
What sort of custody agreement do they have (ie joint, sole, etc..)
Why would the children go to her mother?

Please provide a few more details so we can have a clearer picture of the situation.....

Divorce accured 2.5 years ago. Mother was awarded sole custody with standard visitation for the father. During the 2.5 years father remarried. Father has reported mother to Child protective services because of unexplainable bruises. Went back to court for this but not enough evidence to prove anything (mother said father did it). During that time mother has lived in 8 different homes. Unsure of why.
Father took 6 year old boy taken to DR. for possible hemmorhoid(sp). Dr. asked if there was some reason to believe the child was being abused. Father said yes. Nothing happened then father took children back to mother.
This was an attempt of suicide that has left mom unable to use a limb.
Mom is on disability because of the mental illness so she works at her leisure but has never had a steady job.
Children may be left with grandparents to babysit.
The children are very young and unable to tell what has happened.
