My Step daughter and new boyfriend were recently convicted of abusing one of her three children. She has completely cut off the entire family with the other two children, I fear for thier safety and would like to know if this is cause to file a visitation suit against her? It has been a year now since we last saw these children, and I am concerned daily about thier welfare. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

i googled grandparent's right PA, and this is what i found

Generally, grandparents can seek partial custody or visitation of their minor grandchildren in one of three circumstances: (1) if either of the child's or children's parents are deceased; (2) if the parents have never married, are married but separated for more than six months, or are divorced; or (3) the grandchildren have resided with the grandparents for more than 12 months and then were removed from the home. There is no right to compel grandparent partial custody or visitation if the parents are residing together in an intact marriage.

however, you are the stepgrandparent. which might make a difference. you are married to the mom or dad? i'm guessing dad, per the screen name.

If mom was convicted of abusing one of the kids, where are the kids now? Did social services get involved? Generally all the kids would be removed from the home.

Where is the kids father? He needs to get involved here. I have a hard time believing that mom and her boyfriend get convicted of abuse yet all 3 kids are still them. If by some chance they still have the kids, then they are at risk and you should see am attorney about asking for custody but I have a feeling there is more to the story here. Are the kids in foster care?

I marvel that Kelly has time to post at all, what with taking care of her children, stepchildren, siblings and fiance's children. My two keep me pretty busy so I can only IMAGINE how busy she is!
