My wife and I live in Florida. In 1992 we received our green-cards which say we can permanently reside and work in the United States but have on the front an expiry date of 08.03.02. What happens when the Cards expire? Are there extensions foreseen? What measures shall we take? Whom shall we contact? Any forms to be filled out and where to send them to? Are there any rules available?
Thanks, ABhamel

You have it so easy. Yes the experiation date is in 2002. All you have to do is go on the internet and click KEYWORD and type INS. This will take you to the official website of the immigration dept. where all the forms and office locations will be at your fingertip. With the greencard, you wont have to get your fingerprints done or wait in long lines anymore. All you'll do is fill out a simple application, submit a new picture (you know the one), and they will put a sticker on the back of your old one while you wait for your new one in the mail. Very simple process. I hope i helped a little.
