Greetings,
A group of 8 people all over the country seriously suspect that we have been defrauded by a seller on the Internet auction site eBay.com. We all paid for items that we did not receive. Being that our losses are between $15-100 each, the individual ebay fraud insurance, with it's $25 deductible per claim, is less than attractive. The seller in question is in New York State. I am in the state of Washington. Who is the appropriate authority to report this to, besides eBay? Is this considered "mail fraud"? If not, is it appropriate to just call up the police department in the seller's town? I would like to proceed responsibly (perhaps more responsibly than I was in researching this seller beforehand, I admit.)
Thanks,
Michael 0.
