What is the name of your state? Connecticut

Well, it's getting clsoe to my 16th birthday and I have been runnign around talkign to friends and family. Not one person I talked to didn't think that my aunt filing for guardianship over me was a bad idea. Knowing the problems at home I concluded that a safer, more safe environment would be at my Aunt's house. A little background. She is the ex-wife of my mom's brother. She is definitely good enough for the job. The main problem is that she is in Massachusetts and I reside in Connecticut. This, I hear, is tough for everything. My uncle said that even if it was two minutes across the border from my house to hers it still maeks it that much harder for her to get guardianship. Can someone explain the court environment? What is it like? What will I be addressed with (questions)? Currently, I am 15 years old and will be 16 in January on the 22nd. Should my aunt start getting involved with paperwork becase I ear it may take up to a month to get through the proper channels. This is in best interest for me and I have thought about this for a few months now. To those that can help, thank you very much for your time and patience. Happy Holidays!!

LOL - it may take a hell of a lot longer than a month. Most courts are pretty backed up and it takes several months for a hearing date unless it is a true emergency (as in the child is in immediate danger). You may or may not be asked to speak with the judge.
