Can someone please help ? My Grandma was placed in the hospital Tuesday the 8th do to neglect on the caregivers part. She has had deminesia for sometime now & never appointed anyone POA or guardian. She is now incapacitated and cannot think or help herself. Her doctor will be discharging her next week to a nursinghome. In the meantime, I am pursuing guardianship of her. How long should this take on an emergency basis & are there any other solutions?

Emergency guardianship is for when the person's safety is immediately endangered. Since granny is in the hospital and then going to a nursing home, she is not in any immediate danger. Guardianship takes approx. 6-8 weeks. Hire an attorney that does guardianships to help you with this. There are no other solutions.
