It depends on whether or not the disability and depression affect one's ability to be in such a position and properly take care of the ward. Guardians do have to make major critical decisions, etc.. These things are scrutinized by the court in addition to one's own financial status risk. The court can deny one's appointment as guardian when such risk factors are present.
