What is the name of your state? MN

Hi Lana,
I have lost my original H1-B Approval papers.

I have applied for a copy from INS for the replacement. At the same time, i have also got a job offer from a diff company.

If i have already applied for a copy of my H1B, can i also apply for the transfer of visa at the same time.

Do these two conflict each other or are they independent?

Pls help me !!!!!

THanks in advance,
Uma

There is no conflict but do you not even have a copy of the approval notice for the first H-1B? Did you work with an attorney on that? If so, his/her office should have a copy. If you have shown the approval notice to the employer, the employer may have a copy. It is sufficient to have a copy for the new petition to be submitted as a transfer. Otherwise, without proof that you are in valid H-1B status you may have a difficult time getting the transfer H-1B approved since they will not have a way of referencing what your current status is and verifying it. Do you at least have the receipt number for the initial petition?

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or if I may be of further assistance to you in this matter.

Thanks for the reply Lana.

Yes, I do have a copy of my APproval Notice for H1B. Company B has also filed for my transfer.

But, the transfer petition was applied on July 6 and till date (Jul 21), I have not even received the acknowledgement receipt from INS.

DO i have to worry about this?!

Thanks for your help
Uma

No reason to worry if everything was correctly filed. It sometimes takes 3-4 weeks to get the receipt notice.
