What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Hello,

I am currently working on H1B visa. I will be applying for fellowship this year and it wont start until 2011, by then I will be out of 5 yrs of H1B.

My question is:
1)Can I switch from H1B to J1 as most programs do only J1
2) After my fellowship how will it impact me as I just will be left out with 1yr
H1B
3) will I be eligible for a new 6yr H1B after my J1 waiver.
