H1B Visa Stamping in Canada - Urgent - pls hlep !!!

Hi Lana,

I entered the US with L2 stamping on my passport. I was sponsored a H1B visa in 2003 and i have not gone back to my home country(India) , so i do not have H1B stamped in my passport yet.

Can I go to canada/mexico and have my H1B stamped in my passport (for the first time).. or only extension of visas is possible if i go to canada/mexico..

Should I go to my home country to get my H1B stamped for the first time.

Pls advice !!

hello Uma, i'm in a pretty similar position as you are...I first came to the US with my dad in 97 on visit visa, and then later got my F1..after finishing school last year, i just got a H1 visa..so I'm trying to figure out the same thing whether or not it'll be a problem that we both came here with a different sort of visa and then switched it to something else..what do you think?? Oh btw, I'm also in MN and thinking about going to canada instead of Mexico, have u thought about that???
