What is the name of your state? CA

I am hoping to get some general advice here in this forum. My wife works for the company A. She is on H1b and I am on H4 dependent status. Next year I will apply for my own H1b. This year we are planning to file greencard through my wife's company/immigration lawyer while I am on H4.

If Next year, after filing for greencard, I change my status from H4 to H1b, would affect the process of greencard?? will I be eligible for the greencard procedure through company A as my wife's dependent or I will be excluded from the procedure??? please help. Thanks in advance.

You will be included even if you are by then in H-1B status. Your change of status to H-1B should not affect your ability to get a green card through your wife.

But if you are already working with an immigration attorney, then he/she should be answering these types of questions as your counselor and adviser.

My wife's company did not file her H1b and my H4 through an immigration attorney. And i don't want to take chance in case of Greencard. I haven't spoken to the company, yet regarding whether they have an immigration specialist for greencard or not.
