What is the name of your state? NY

My husband had a mortgage with bank and died. For years I tried to settle with this bank and they repeadely ignored me would not return my calls, threatened to foreclase on my house and are taking me to court. I just found out by accident (found a fee for optional insurnace on the last bill he paid) that that my husband had a life insurance policy with this bank for the mortgage and the bank has not acknowledged it. Shouldn' thee policy have covered any outstanding amount owed, and is there any legal recourse for me to sue the bank for this unnecessary treatment for the past three years..

Ihave no idea who the insurance company is. I only found a premium fee that was paid to the mortgage company for the policy, which I have no paperwork for. For three years the mortgage has not admitted to the ploicy claiming no that there were bad bookkeeping practices. Just by accident I found the information out while reviewing one of the mortgage bills my husband paid and one the bill there was a indication of a pemium amount that went toward life insurance.

Do I have any grounds to sue them for negiligence and harassment?

you still haven't provided any details of why they are bothering you. did you stop paying the mortgage after your husband died? if yes, why? is this the mortgage for your house?
