What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Maine

Facts:
I work for a large corporation of about 32,000 employees. At my site there are about 1,000 employees, 80% being female.

I am a male and have worked 2 years for the company with about 4 months in my current dept.

Issue:
3 male employees, including myself, were sent an email by 2 female managers to discipline us for taking excessive breaks. The 2 female managers are not our managers but they did cc our managers. The "excessive" breaks were reported to them by a female admin, so the allegations of the excessive breaks are hearsay. Several female employees were also witnessed to have been taking excessive breaks and were not sent an email.

My "excessive" break was to attend a farewell luncheon of a fellow employee which I had approved by my supervisor. It was also claimed we were taking excessive breaks all week and I was only there 2 days that week.

We were told in the past that we could take extra breaks since we do work overtime and don't get compensated for it.

I believe that I was singled out because I am male.

I know the typical responses from people on these forums are, "Well look for another job you baby" and "Well you can't sue people for being jerks". I almost think the people replying on these forums are paid by corporations to put down anyone asking if they have a case or not. A simple answer without any put downs would be appreciated. Oh ya, I already am looking for another job and will probably have an offer next week.

Best regards and Happy New Year

Forgot something

Forgot to mention something that may be relevant. A male manager in the dept has recently resigned and is filing a harassment suit.

What another manager may have done has nothing to do with your situation.

Your belief that you were singled out because you are male is not evidence. What EVIDENCE do you have? (That's a real question, not a sarcastic answer.)

Evidence

I only mentioned the male manager's lawsuit because I thought it might show a pattern of gender bias in the female managers' actions.

I guess I have no other evidence than it has happened before, which I have witnessed. And we were singled out when others, who were female, were guilty also.

I'm not looking to sue or anything like that. I'm just wondering if I have a valid complaint to file with human resources.

A pattern of behavior can be considered evidence.

If you sincerely believe that you were targeted because of your gender, then take it to HR.
