I am from West Virginia; all email I receive is in Pennsylvania. Main issue: a person has sent "ecards" dealing with offensive subjects in my name to another person, and in my boyfriend's name to both me and this third person. She has also enrolled me in several weight loss newsletters, including filling out forms in my name with my address, phone number, work address, work phone, work fax, and work email address. I cannot seem to get the IP address or any other way to prove the culprit, but I do believe I have a case for identity fraud.
How can I trace who is sending these? Unfortunately the only IP address on the email is connected to the websites from which these cards, forms, and newsletters come. I know who it is, and that she is doing it from work, but her company will not help me. Can a lawyer influence her company to check the history on her browser to prove that she was on the websites from which these came? If so, is that all I can have done, or can these be traced further? Please help me! I don't know where else she could be using my name, email, personal info, but I'm scared.
