What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? NEW JERSEY
I was dating a guy - Chris - for a while and we broke up about 2-3 years ago or so. (my year-dates are all sketchy.) We then started talking again b/c he wanted to 'work things out.' long story short, I get a phone call one day from his girlfriend who said she was suspecting he was cheating on her and saw my cell number and called me up. So her and I got to talking and we understood that Chris told Jeanne (that's her name) that him and I had broken up, and it was over. He never told me she existed and between the two of us girls, we were able to pinpoint specific times he lied about where he was when he was with one of us. He comes in the door, she puts him on the phone with me and he's busted. Fine, let her have him - over and done with. She called me for a few days after that initial phone call "to talk" and then I finally told her I did not want to talk to her anymore b/c it was too much. A few weeks later or so, she calls me from a restricted number 10-20 times a day, everyday. Sometimes she'd let it ring once or twice then hang up, other times she'd wait until my voice mail kicked in (only left one or two messages over the course of perhaps a year or a little less - not recorded) or she'd wait until I picked up and then she'd say nothing. Eventually, I had enough and changed my cell phone number. Per the cell company, they could not block a restricted number from calling me, nor could they trace a restricted number, and on their phone records they cannot see missed phone calls (the ones I did not pick up). So I had to change my number. Things were good for about 6 months until somehow she got my phone number. She has started calling again (5 times in a row on Sunday August 21 and 2-3 times on Aug 25) and I do not know what to do about it. So far it's only been a few times, and I doubt that is enough - with lack of prior evidence - to get the cops involved. And quite frankly, if this girl is bored enough to bother with me after all this time, I am apt to believe she is one of those people who'll just get worse. Oh, I know it's her b/c she has been calling me from her real cell phone number - not blocked - so I looked it up online, found no name associated with it, then paid $15 to some company and got her name. From here, I don't know what to do. Any ideas?
