There is a 75 year old tenant that has moved in next door to my building since he moved in he has harassed and threatened tenants in my building as well as the one he is in, anytime someone back chats or stands up to him and tells him to basically shut up he marches of and calls the police, 15 times so far the police have been out and questioned tenants in regards to assault threats etc against him when police are told he is the one threatening everyone he comes walking out with a walking stick limping stating he is an invalid & stating everyone is threatening him because they just want him out.

I had an assault charge filed against me as well which a detective dismissed as bogus.

The problem is it is starting to wear everyone down in my building as well as next door if my gardeners come around he starts swearing and screaming they are messing up his property... (It his not his property)..

He spins his vehicle around on my driveway every day kicking up the gravel shouting fuc@@s, I will call the police on all of you.

The owner of his building keeps away from him and will not get involved.

The question is what can I as the building owner next door do about this?

.....What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

About all you can do is let him keep calling the police and sooner or later they are gonna tell him to knock it off unless he wants to face false reporting charges!

Why didn't you insist that the police charge him with filing a false report when the assault charge was dismissed?

If he's damaging your property, call the police and report him. Personally, I would call the police for trespassing if that guy set foot (or tire) on my property. What's fair is fair.

Sounds like the only thing that will affect this guy is a few hours to a few days in jail...probably repeatedly.

Sad thing is the guy appears to be clearly violating the "peaceful enjoyment" of his neighbors, and the LL could probably have him out pretty quick.

Having a charge dismissed and an investigation dropped are two entirely different things. And either one is most often dropped for lack of evidence...not being "false." And even if the detective thought it was "bogus" (op's words) is not tantamount to being proven in court.

invest in a cheap video recorder if you don't have one. if hes at his antics again start recording. if and when the cops show, then let them see the video you capture.

Thanks for responses folks ... police came out again and they were about to arrest him before he came out with a song and dance routine about being attacked again, the police basically stated not true warned him and stated they were aware he was annoying everyone around, they let him slide; after they left he stood out front laughing out loud at everyone..

It looks like one more call out I think the police will arrest him it looks like even they have had enough of him.

I have the video cameras but need to upgrade the recorder.. Probably serve him with a do not trespass notice

thanks
