Has anyone had counseling from two states?

What is the name of your state? LA

I agreed in mediation to have counseling w/ my x-husband. The purpose is to learn how to communicate with each other so that we can co-parent. He will be seeing the counselor in NY and I will talk to her by phone. I am a little concerned about how well that works. I assume the dr will not be biased just because shes never met me, but has anyone else had counseling like this. If so, did it work?

Who has custody of the child and where does the child reside? Will these phone sessions include your ex?

I am CP. The child resides here w/ me in LA. I am not sure if she will talk to us separate, I hope she will at first. My x emailed me today saying that he will email me the appt times, and that it will occur while my daughter is in school. Thanks for your help.
