What is the name of your state?CT.
with my first lawyer I had a deposition. He said it went great. I never had been a part of or knew of any hearings while with him. My second lawyer told me to meet him at the workman's comp office within two weeks of hiring him. When I got there, he alone went in to an office and within 5minutes came back out and said that they wanted a $figure on what I was willing to settle on. That was about 3months ago. My lawyer is also handling my bankrupcy. We have not even had a conversation about a settlement. I do however ask him about the case and he says it's in the works or something along those lines. I am desperate. My husband and I are considering divorce because of financial reasons. I can't support myself or my daughter. Is there anything I can do to make this happen NOW Thank-You

The Worker's Comp process works very slowly. Not knowing anything about your WC claim or what stage it's in, it's impossible to say whether it's even appropriate to discuss settling your claim at this point. What I do know is that you need to insist your attorney explain exactly what the WC process is and what his experience suggests the outcome of your claim will be and when.

Make an appointment to see him and do not leave his office until you have a full understanding of exactly what is taking place.

when you reach mmi they stop paying you and you start on your final addmission of liability. if you want to settle it quick call your case manager and ask what is going on.. if your not getting paid then have you reached mmi? do you have an impairiment rating? these are things you should know

believerbac, the bottom line answer is we don't know. You haven't given us a fraction of the information we would need to have to answer your question. There could be any number of reasons why you aren't getting a weekly comp; we don't know a thing about your case; we have no possible way of knowing what the reason is.

These are questions you need to take up with your lawyer. He knows why you are not getting paid. We do not.
