Around 10 months ago I was involved in a head on collision where the on coming vehicle traveled over a 12" concrete median and came into the on coming lane and hit me had on. In results it totalled my car and I sustained neck, head, and eye injuries. I had eye treatments for several months and now it seems I am doing better. The individual that hit me had insurance as well as I. They received numersous tickets. But when it came time to pay off my totalled vehicle and when medical expenses came due their insurance did not pay them or drug their feet per say. Instead of the medical expenses going to a collector my insurance company took care of them as well as paying for my car. Their insurance company has an adjuster contacting me in regards to the accident. My out of pocket expenses, lost wages, time, etc exceeds the amount that was offered by the adjuster to settle this case. And the question is what if I have further complications with my vision down the road. I guess my question is if I have an attorney represent me is the other insurance company liable for the attorney fee's, Lost wages, time, exspenses and so forth? Is there a dollar amount set for different injuries. For example neck, shoulder, head and eye injuries. I had heard that on a case like this one would take the medical expenses and lost wages etc and multiply that figure by 5 and that total would be fair compensation. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
