I am from Pennsylvania. I am a lifelong obese woman (current age 31). My family doctor (a health plan participating doctor) recently prescribed a weight loss drug (after several failed attempts with alternate means) for
me but my health insurance informed me that as of May 1, 2001 they no long cover ANY weight loss medications (they did cover certain ones in the past). I feel this is discrimination. They would never stop covering all
heart patient or diabetes medications. Is this something in which I should seek further legal advice? Thank you
