I live in Ca. and recently terminated my employment due to unethical business practices. I have had medical coverage through this employer for 9 years, and would like to continue, for now, under COBRA. I was just notified by the company that my insurance was terminated approx. 4 weeks ago. I was never notified this would happen, and was wondering what my employer`s responsibility is, regarding this. I was under the impression the employer would notify you, a month prior, if your insurance would expire. Do you know if they are required by law to let you know or can they just pull the plug at will?
