My friend Kathy who is from England, is here on work permit,
brought her father as a visitor on Dec 3, 2001.
Her father had bought visitor insurance for $50,000. On Dec 10,
he had a heart attack.
The bills ran up to $80,000. Medical insurance is refusing to pay
(pre-existing condition). Kathy has not signed any papers with
the hospitals or doctors on this whole thing, but her brother Mike (who is also here) has
sponsored their father's visit.

Is Kathy or Mike legally liable for any of the medical expenses incurred due
to their father's illness? Can the hospitals and doctors demand
money from Kathy and Mike, or threaten to sue them?
