What is the name of your state? Louisiana

I was wondering if the company you work for can deside to make its employees pay for prescriptions, Dr. visits, surgeries, ect for 30 to 45 day while the insurance company's new biller gets employees name in the system? We got less than 24 hours notice this would happen. Paying for the services and then being paid back at the insurance convenience is not the way it has ever been done here.

Absent an obligation under personal employment agreement, or coverage under a union contract, an employer has no obligation to provide, or to continue to provide health insurance or to do it the way it has done it before.

This is unusual but probably not a legal issue. At least you'll eventually get repaid.

With the exception of the state of Hawaii, an employer is not obligated to provide health insurance at all.
