What is the name of your state? Wisconsin

I would like to know if it's legal in Wisconsin to ask a person in an interview if they will be needing health insurance. Our company pays 50% of the cost of the employee's health insurance. It would be nice to know ahead of time if the employee plans on enrolling in the company's health insurance so their starting wage can be adjusted somewhat to offset the additional burden they would bring to the company.

Although it is legal to ask the question, it is illegal to make a hiring decision on the basis of whether or not an employee will need the insurance, and if you don't ask the question, you can't be accused of it.
