What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri
My daughter is going to be 2 next month. Her father has been ordered to pay $133 a month. The reason the amount is so low is because he hasn't had a job and he claims to be homeless. I know all of this is not true. He lives with friends and pays rent, and he works "under the table" (I know you all know what this means). I can't get proof of it because I can't be around him. (He is a bad guy I had to get a restraining order against.)
So far, he has not paid a penny of child support. About a month ago, he was reported to the credit agencies. I was told the next step is taking away his license. Then jail. Why does it take so long? But that isn't my question and I apologize for getting off-track.
My question revolves around this: So far, he has requested 3 hearings to have his child support lowered. He doesn't show up to any of them. This forces me to take time off work to participate in a hearing that he doesn't even show up to. How many times is the judge going to let this fly? Do they just keep granting hearing requests over and over? Or at some point, does the judge say "enough!"?
I was recommended this site from a friend, who says you have the best advice around. I sure hope so! Thanks in advance!!!
