I sold 2 auctions in November, the buyers Claim they recieved all different items. And they sent all info to local police. My mom has a non profit organization which I write for donations, and we get totes together once a year to get into shelters. The Police had a search warrent and searched my home for all items pertaining to her organization, saying that I was not allowed to sollicit for donations according to my mom.
They bascially had my entire house packed up and ready to take and then talked again to my mom who cleared it up and said that yes i did have the right as I do most of the work for her.
They then left everything but took my computers and that was all. They said they were sending them to another state where that woman claiming i sent her the wrong things lives.
she was for about $3,000. And the other one Again in another state is for $500
When they left they said this is all set but now you have to deal with the other 2 people and thats all.
Also they thought I had stolen credit cards which turned out that I did not.
I do not even understand how that came about. They said they had been reading my emails for a while. Like My donation requests I was sending,
Which turns out they were wrong, that I should have been sending them.
Aren't they in the wrong somehow with all this?
Now I have lost 2 computers and they said they have to send them to another state. and I may not have them back for a few months.
All for 2 online sales that went bad? I have been selling online for 10+ Years and have over 4,500 positive feedbacks on ebay.
What can they do to me now, that far away, will that detective come here and take me to court, what can I be accused of, and what would the penelty be? Im so confused how Ive been selling for so long and now i come into all these problems, Please Help

Your ebay feedback means squat. If they decide to charge you they could come and arrest you or just issue you a warrant for you or just send you certified copies of the charges.

If you're going to play here, you need to tell us YOUR state and the state that might be filing charges against you. There's good reason why we ask this and those people who choose to ignore that request usually get NOTHING back.

Further, notwithstanding your potential criminal charges, were you mentioning this charity in your ebay listings. If so you better have gone through the proper procedure there (showing your letter from the charity or doing it through missionfish).

There is a whole lot more to this story, people don't call the police when they are sent the wrong items they purchased from eBay.

I didnt mean to leave out my state I am new and must have missed that.
I am in mass and the other 2 people are in Cali and ohio.
I didnt sell any of the items. We are a legitimate nonprofit organization.
My mom was even featured in a magaine about her organization.
The items that I have here are being made into totes to give to shelters for awareness month. They thought that I may have been selling them online,
since Im a seller online. When they came here they were about to take everything then talked to my mom, Who clarified that I am a part of the business and that I did have a right to send solicitation emails out.
when they were leaving they said ok so i guess all this is all set but youll still have to deal with the other 2 people in the other states.
They never would have came here if it were not for the organization thinking i was doing false things. They put everything back and took just the computer, the detective in another state wants it.
The only things That I guess I am dealing with are 2 lots that I sold that the buyers did not get everything that was purchased. All the other things turned out to be wrong.
I just dont know what a detective will want, and what they can do.
Can they have the police here charge me and take me to court.
And under what charges, not recieving everything purchased?
Thanks for the help

and racer, I didnt call the police, I was calling because the detective in my state gave me the guys name the detective that was investigating me for online selling.
I was calling to follow up and see what I could do from there and see if he had any advice for me. And how long he was going to keep my computer for?
Because Im not too sure I understand why they have the right to take it for something like that. Thanks for helping

Oops racer, I know what you mean now.
No they probley put in a police report, i know You can file a police report for anything. And then once the organization boxes started coming to my home,
They looked up the organization and saw that the address was not my home but my moms so they contacted her and wanted to make sure that it was legit, whatever she said to them that day they got a search warrent the next day and on the list of things to get out of here was everything donated for the organization, anything pertaining to the organization, and anything to do with those 2 peoples names, the ones that filed a police report for not recieveing or being scammed. They said they had those 2 reports 8 months ago once it happened, but maybe could not do anything until this came up, So added it to the pile I guess. I know what you mean though,
Again thanks for reading these and trying to help, I appreciate it

This is one confusing mess and you've contradicted yourself. You sold these people things, but say you didn't sell anything. Cops don't get sent out over wrong items. Something's not adding up here. Maybe you're emotional and confuse, but it's making for a story that I, at least, can't make heads or tails of. You're going to need to contact an attorney, period. If you can't put together a coherent recollection of events, I doubt your ability to pursue anything on your own.
