HELP! Grandmother causing family problems..

What is the name of your state? Upstate NY
I need advise. My mother has been estranged from myself, my husband and my children for two years. She comes around every couple of months to see the children, which I allow her to do as long as its a supervised visit as she does have a drinking problem and has for many many years. This woman has been causing problems for me for over 8 years, Recently I put my childrens birthday photos in the local paper, Now 3 days after the photos were in, my mothers boyfriend brings a letter to the newpaper office and demands that it be run again, naming my mother as a grandparent, and she included my mother in laws name as well.
I spoke to the editor and told him he does NOT have my consent to put my minor childrens name in again just to say that Anna Summers is their grandmother. He said he would not put it in, but I could smell trouble, I'm sure she (grandmother) will not let this drop. What should I do? I have had the NYS Troopers here once already to remove this sick woman from my property after she came runnung into my house like a maniac. Please if anyone has advise...I am open to any suggestions.

Having choices is the best! .. here are yours..

1. Get a restraining order against your mother and then have her arrested the moment she breaks it.

2. Move.

Thank you for the advise.
Moving is out of the question as we have a wonderful family oriented neighborhood and a beautiful home and I refuse to let a sick woman such as my mother drive me out of my home. As for the restraining order how does one go about getting a restraining order? Will I need an attorney? And what is the criteria for obtaining one? There is a report filied with the NYS Police when the drunk walked in my house univited and started yelling and screeming. If at the age of 40 I could legally "divorce" myself from my mother I would!
