I really need help!!!
My husband runs a licensed wallpaper business from our home, he was hired by a construction company to do a large sum of work on a building, by verbal contract. We have already completed the work. Now the contractor is saying he gave our money to the painting sub-contractor who in turn was suposed to pay us. The sub-contractor walked off the job without completing it. The contractor says he has proof that he payed him our money. We have now finally gotten as far as to lein the job and and contractor. The total for the job is $4100.00, the contractor is now saying that if we lift the lein, he will give us 2000.00 and that we have to sue the sub-contractor for the balance. We really need the money, but I don't want to lose the balance of $$2,100.00 is there anything else that i can do to make sure we get the rest of our money?
