State Dept. of Insurance:
What is their purpose? I have been talking with the guy who is handling our case. And basically he has been telling me:
1. There are no laws -- statutes with regard to delays for making a settlement. (House-fire).
2. If you hire a Public Adjuster or Attorney, they bascially own your case and do have to inform you or keep you updated with what is going on.

Insurance companies do not have to give you copies of your file
He told me it would be in my best interest to hire an attorney... I have been out of my house for 8 going on 9 months now... All I want to do is go home.
