I'm really at a loss here... I've just found out that my apartment building has been sold. We knew it was for sale but no one has told us anything and then yesterday our garbage service was taken away. No one has contacted us with who to pay rent to or who even bought the place! I have been here for 3 years, what happens to my deposit?? Help me! We are under lease until October so does that mean the new owner takes over that lease or do I have to sign a new one? We have wiring problems, a cracked window & a ceiling fan *yes that is minor but annoying!* that was suppose to have been put up a year ago! I don't know who to contact or what to do!! We had been paying rent to a manager on site but he seems to know less then I do!

YOUR Lease is Valid until october 2001, and Your security deposit gets transferred to the new owner.

And YES you could sign a new lease..IF YOU WANT TO...you cannot be forced to sign a new lease...( HINT: rent increase)

Keep paying rent to the manager and make sure you keep ALL your reciepts and cancelled checks and LEASES...AND..DO NOT UNDER ANY circumstances pay your rent in CASH!
