help on child modification

i wrote before about my x taking me back to court to obtain sole custody of our 7yr old. (We have joint custody). I went to my lawyer. Obviously the things he has accused me of are not true and i do not see how he could prove anything in court, unless he has his girlfriend or friends lie for him. My lawyer has suggested i get a hair folical test, possibly hire a Private Investigator, etc. Just to protect my innocence. This does cost money. My question is is it really necessary for me to spend the money for these things when i know his accusations are false. I just don't understand how his lawyer has gone along and let him make these charges with no merit. What trick could he be playing? My lawyer in the meantime has retailiated to his lawyer. This is just a mess. our daughter is a bright, happy healthy little girl. I am a great mom! This whole thing has had me stressed out just waiting and wondering how the law works when you know you don't do the things you are accused of but have to fight for your innocence.
I need advice and peace of mind. tY

All I can tell you is what I know from what I'm going through. It sounds like we are in similar situations. If I were you I would go ahead and spend the money on the folical test and the private investigator. Honestly what I have found about child custody is that once false accusations are made against you, it is your job to prove your innocents. It sounds very wrong, It is not fair but its what has to happen. Personaly I would spend every dime I have and then borrow from others if it means keeping my daughter safe, and happy. Just my opinion hope it helps,
