When I was 16 or 17, I was caught shoplifting in CA and it was deemed a misdemeanor. I did not dispute it and paid my fines to both the retailer and court. I also did my mandated community service and shoplifting classes. The judge said this would take it off my record. I recently applied for a job that required a background check and just want to make sure its gone. How can I do so/is it really gone in your opinion?

How old are you now? Why are you confused about when this happened?

Whether it's gone or not, the majority of employers would not have access to your juvenile record.
