What is the name of your state? Dayton, Ohio

I have for the last month gotten 2 threatening emails from an ex friend. Last night he saw me while I was driving and chased me. Later that night his girlfriend, filed a report with the city of Dayton Police saying I was constantly harassing her and driving past her house etc. The officer went on to say if this behavior continued I could face menacing charges, and I was barred from her property and if found there I would be arrested. I explained to him that I have had no contact (except for last night when she contacted me first via a text message and had some choice words for me, which I stupidly responded too) with this person (the girlfriend) for over 2 months, that I have not called her, emailed her, been to/on her property in the last 2 months (since the time we stopped being friends) He just brushed off what I said and told me that a formal investigation complaint (FIC) was filed by her. So, my question is; legally what rights do I have when I have done nothing wrong, but mind my own business... is there some sort of protection I have from a false complaint? defamation of character? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you...

Q: is there some sort of protection I have from a false complaint?

A: No; it is not defamation to file a false police report. It could be, however, a crime, so if you think your friend committed a crime, report the friend.
