I am currently in Korea (US Army) but I live in Georgia and the problem is in New Mexico... Ok here goes. (By the way, I am not sure where to make this post.)
Ok when I was in Augusta GA around a year ago at Ft. Gordon my 2002 Ext. Cab S-10 truck was keyed all over the place to the metal. Well I filed a report and they (Police) said they would have to open a case and that the base could not pay for it because they couldn't prove that it happened on the installation. So I try my insurance company and they wouldn't cover it because I was basically living in Augusta but had insurance elsewhere so I didn't pursue it any further than that. Well my truck needed to be painted and I asked my uncle to paint it for me in New Mexico so I had my father haul my truck over to NM and get my uncle to do a "custom" paintjob on it, which was a complete color change and adding flames to it. He told me that he was going to make it look as if it were born blue and completely repaint the truck from scratch and install a roll pan (for an extra $100.00 so I sent him an extra $150.00) Which was a grand total of $2,400. Well I get my truck back and not only did it have an extra 10,000 miles on it but it had not been stripped completely down before it was painted nor properly primered. There are spots on my truck where you can still see the maroon underneath...gave the blue paint a purple look to it and also it was not buffed out the paint was still rough to the touch in many places and when I washed the truck paint began to flake off...Is there anything that I can do to get my money back? Or get him to redo my truck free of charge?

Yes, you can file a small claims suit against him in NM.
No, the court will not order to redo your truck for free.

My response:

I don't know!

You're the one who went to Korea - - not us!

So, what the hell do you want from us, anyway?

Go AWOL for all we care. Geez, pal. You asked a question, and it was answered. We can't help your geographical location.

:)

Sorry didn't mean for that to sound rude  I was just wondering how hard it would be to set something up while being here....or if I would actually have to be in NM. But the information is much appreciated. Sorry to sound like a smartalic.

You are in the ARMY go to the JAG office and inquire there.
Remember you are given your famly but can choose your friends, it is never a wise idea to mix business with family for the very reasons you have discovered.

Yeah...

Yeah I am in the Army....but there is only a little "Legal" office here where I am stationed and to top it all off...the section that I would be visiting is ran by a private....:) But you are right....family and business don't mix....but I don't see him at all....so I may go the small claims route...maybe it will work and also is there a way to be compensated for 10,000 miles being put on my truck? Just another one of my dumb q's :D

Don't let "I'm always Liable" get to you. He is know for being rude-checked his other posts. We who are not lawyers seem to be his entertainment.

I just wanted to say thank you for the job you are doing in the Army. :)

Best of luck with your truck.

My response:

Well, why don't YOU help this guy? When you write such stupidity without helping someone, then yes, you are MY entertainment.

Saying "best of luck with your truck" helps no one. Why don't you answer his question "What can I do while in korea....for 2 more years?"

I mean, to me, this guy can't walk and talk while chewing gum if he asks questions like that. He probably asks his CO how to tie his boots, too. But, I'm sure YOU have an answer for him - - right?
