What is the name of your state? Michigan

My sister recently purchased a 1998 Chevrolet/Geo Prism. After having the car for less than 24 hours the engine blew up. Is she covered under the Michigan Lemon Law? If so, how do I go about taking care of all this? Thanks for your help :D

If you need any more info regarding the situation I will do my best to provide it.

Michigan lemon laws cover new, not used vehicles. It is a buyer's responsibility to have a vehicle inspected prior to purchase. If the vehicle was bought as is, she has no recourse.

That was not exactly the answer I was hoping for, but I'm not overly surprised. I know this probably does not help, but my sister purchased the vehicle in Indiana. Let me know if this changes anything. Also, is there anything else I can do? Thanks for your help racer72.

These links give you information on the vehicles that are covered under the Indiana lemon law, if she bought it from a dealer: http://www.in.gov/attorneygeneral/consumer/lemonlaw.html

If she bought it from a private party and did not get any kind of written warranty, then she bought the car "as is".

If this is the case, then "Google" the term "Caveat emptor".
