What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Tennessee
My story could take hours to tell, however I am going to try to reduce it down into a sensible paragraph.
My boss, a school principal, was recently fired for questionable practices that have been occurring for the past three school years. I am the assistant principal that serves directly under him. I was recently questioned by our superintendent and school board members as to some of the actions that he has done, as well as what he has not done that he should have. After I was questioned he was fired. His secretary is very loyal to him and has covered up for him for eleven years now. With his dismissal she has, and continues to, harm my creditability with teachers, as they will be in on the interview process of our next principal, which I am up for. She has openly stated that I supposedly lied to the superintendent and school board members and that I acted vengefully in an attempt to get his job for myself. She has made the statement that if they allow for me to get the position of principal that they better start looking for work elsewhere because I will make their life “hell,” and that she will see to it that I am not promoted due to what I supposedly did. I have gone to my superintendent and his assistant twice stating what she is doing, however they both acted as though this was to be expected due to her loyalty to her friend and boss and that I should not worry about it. I cannot not worry about it, she is destroying my creditability with my coworkers, as well as influencing their discussions as to whom they want for their next principal. Do I have a case?
