I work for a mortgage company in NY and we make many great and long lasting relationships with realtors. Unfortunately one realtor we wanted to work with has a mortgage company of their own. The owner of my company and this realtor (who owns his own real estate company and mortgage company) got into an altercation. The realtor threatened my boss saying that he would cut his legs off if my boss wouldn't stop working with his realtors. Then the realtor said that he would inform all of his realtors that if they did any business with my mortgage company then they would be fired on the spot. Obviously a client has the right to go through whomever they want to for financing irregardless of what the realtor says. What law exactly is this realtor violating?

I am filing a complaint with the association of realtors in our area about how he has threatened his realtors with being fired if their clients choose to go through our mortgage company for financing. The association requires our company to list the laws that the realtor has broken. I'm at a loss as to where I can obtain this information. Please help!

Your association NEEDS to hire a local attorney that specializes in R.E.

A Realtor steering buyers to a particular lender is a clear violation of RESPA. This Realtor, however is steering buyers AWAY from a lender, indirectly at that.

No it isn't!

This Realtor, however is steering buyers AWAY from a lender, indirectly at that.

And how do you know that anyone involved here is a Realtor (r)?

oooooooo, can I play?

If I recall correctly:
all real estate agents and real estate brokers are not Realtors.

All Realtors are real estate agents or Brokers.

and...I do not know the html code for the copyright symbol that shold be posted right after and next the word 'Realtor'.

Can we shoot the first one who uses 'Realator'.

of course SJ is correct and thanks for the clarification.

I pay me dues to them but forgot the difference. [I still needed the 'R' in a circle]
