The state is Georgia.

I obtained a judgment in Superior Court against the defendants in June. I am in Virginia. I telephoned the Clerks office to ask what they required to record a judgment. They told me to go to the library ... they don't give out legal advice. This has pretty much been there attitude throughout the litigation, unhelpful with simple things.

So I guess I need what they call a FI.FA. from the Clerk. I have no idea what this is.

Can someone assist me by telling me what I need to present to the clerk to obtain this and have the judgment recorded as a lien. Is there a form, do I need an affidavit. This seems to be unnecessarily difficult.

I have searched the Internet and it seems that different states have different requirements; however, I can not find anything that says I need to do A,B,C, **************.

Thanks for any help.

Common SeniorJudge .... tell me!

We have repeatedly told you to hire an attorney and you have refused to do this because you don't want to pay them. Instead you hired a coach, well ask them. Just like the court clerks, we cannot tell you exactly what is required in that jurisdiction.

OK I will check that out; however it "appears" that you knew the exact words to put in which I did not. I did make a very good effort tho.

I have now reviewed that information and it was not the question I asked. I wish to record the judgment as a lien and I need to obtain this FIFA from the clerk.

Question was:
Can someone assist me by telling me what I need to present to the clerk to obtain this and have the judgment recorded as a lien. Is there a form, do I need an affidavit. This seems to be unnecessarily difficult.

Thanks

I know you just try to help but you really don't get it do you?

They had 3 attorneys and they LOST. I had a coach and I won! Had I had an attorney I would be out another $25K in cash and still have the same judgment in my hand ... Got it? There are times when an attorney is necessary and those when he/she is not. This was a simple contract issue and I am quite up to speed on that.

We are in different states (me and coach) and the laws are different. If it were here it would already be done.

I asked for some simple help, do you have any to offer? Thanks for your interest however.
