What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NEW JERSEY

OK..I helped out a friend in need and agreed to become roomates. We got an apartment together (both names on the lease) and I even helped her to get a job where I have been working for 5 years. Over the past few months she turned out to be a crazy person, stealing money from me, stealing my property, and slandering me at work. I finally told her i was planning on moving out, as were going to be evicted shortly anyway as I found out she hadn't been paying her part of the rent for 2 months when she told me she did. That must of set her off because I came home from work one day and a ton of my clothes and personal items were misisng and I found them all in her room. Of course I took them all back and was planning on confronting her but she never came home.

I went to work and when I came home I received a threatening letter from her saying "don't f*ck with me I will f*ck your whole life up x10" "Try me you dont know what im capable of" etc...I was a little scared by that and spent the night at a friends. I go to work the next day and I get served with a restraining order by HER that said i "broke into her room and damaged her door while taking HER property and claiming it was mine".so now they tell me that I am not able to enter the apartment until the court date which is 2 weeks away! So I go to the police station and show them the letter that she wrote me and file a restraining order against her. The TRO that I filed on her was for harrasment and states that she cannot go near me or make any contact with me or make contact through a 3rd party. AND also is banned from our residence.

NOW here is the tricky part..The police were even confused on whether we were both banned from the apartment or not. The judge had actually told them that we could both be there but he didnt recommend that as it was a receipe for disaster..that i dont really understand But I would like to get all of my belongings out of there before she damages them. I went with a police officer to get just a few things..and she was in the apartment. Why am I being told to leave and shes still there?

ALSO..I went to work and showed the restraining order and the harrasing letter that she wrote to me to Human Resource They weren't clear on what to do in a situation like this so they told me they would get back to me. A few hours later HR informed me that we both had to take time off either unpaid or I could use vacation hours until they can come up with a solution. Which would either be to work different days or someone gets transferred. What I do not understand is that if i am the one who has the TRO against her because she threatened me why am I being told that I cannot work? Shouldnt it just be her? The TRO she has against me just states for the place of residence.

Sorry that this was so long..there was a lot of explain!
Thanks.
